MLK Day Observance (No Sunday School Class)
January 14, 2018, 10:30 am - 3:00 pm
On Sunday, January 14, in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr’s birthday, we will be joining the Workmen’s Circle Midtown school for their day of education and Social Action.
The MLKjr Day program will run from 10:30-1:00. It will begin with a full-group gathering for songs and intro, and then we’ll split up by ages for a learning program for about 30 min. Then we will have a variety of stations for on-site social action activities. One activity that has become a tradition is making sandwiches that volunteers then deliver to a food pantry.
We do not have a bus so travel options are as follows: driving independently, arranging carpooling, or taking the train. The Workman’s Circle is at 247 West 37th Street, 5th Floor, NYC. There will be no regular classes on this date.
PLEASE, RSVP to Jeremy Freedman, our school principal, if you will be bringing your child or sending your child with another family. We hope that you will be able to join us for this wonderful event uniting two great Workman’s Circle schools.
