(Teen Group Event)

What Does Social Justice Activism Mean to Us?
followed by
Lunch at Ramen Nagomi

The IL Peretz Secular Jewish Community’s Teen Group is planning several gatherings his fall. Meet at / Drop off your kids at 11:00 am at Rutgers Prep, where teens will participate in a discussion, led by peer educators from the Workmen’s Circle, around social justice activism. Questions to be explored will include:

  • What is social justice activism?  Why is it Jewish?
  • Am I a Jewish social justice activist?
  • How do I live by my values?

The goal of this program is to enable our teens to articulate the unique opportunities they have to make the world a more beautiful and better place, and to help them understand their place in the world and begin to consider how they might be/become a Jewish social justice advocate.

We have recruited some parents who will take any kids without cars to lunch at Ramen Nagomi (49 Bayard Street, New Brunswick), where the noodle-icious lunch options will be explained by the Japanese-American Pestka family.  Lunch should end at about 2:30, at which time you can pick up your kids at the restaurant.

Please RSVP as soon as possible to allow us to make the appropriate number of lunch reservations.
